Smoothie Bowl Base

  • 1/2 cup Frozen Pineapple Chunks

  • 1/2 cup Frozen Mango Chunks

  • 1/2 inch Ginger peeled

  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder

  • 1/3 cup Coconut Milk

  • Blueberries

  • Banana

  • Kiwi

  • Honey granola

  • Chia Seeds

  • Lychee

Place all the ingredients for the smoothie bowl base into a high-speed blender or food processor and blend until smooth. If necessary, add more coconut milk in small amounts to be able to blend fully.

Once smooth and the texture is "sorbet-like," pour into a serving bowl and top with desired toppings.

Personal tips

The tricks to creating a good smoothie bowl base are to not put so much liquid in it that it becomes watery, definitely to use frozen fruit, and to use a high-speed blender or a food processor. These tricks will help you produce a sorbet-like frozen texture that you want for your smoothie bowls. You do not want them to be liquid like a smoothie because then when you try and top these bowls with any toppings, they will not stay afloat and immediately start sinking. (it already happened multiple times to me, lol)

As for the toppings, I decided that blueberries, banana, lychee, wiki, the granola and the seeds would go well on this smoothie bowl but you can essentially make it what you want. If you think any other fruit, seeds, nuts, or flakes would go better, then please go for it, I believe this is the fun part of making bowls, using our creativity with these yummy superfoods.
